Mobiles, PDAs, Palm Tops etc. have been described as the future access devices for the Web browsing. In next few years’ time, there will be more people accessing the Internet via mobile devices than via conventional PCs.
Here is an interesting snippet.
In the recent years web is being used for more serious business applications. Mr. Avinash (Manager - Corporate Communication DLF Group) needs access to his official mails anytime and anywhere and feel mobiles and PDAs are good mediums. It is small and easy to carry. WAP sites can serve the information purpose better than conventional PC web access.
In the changing scenario can we depend on conventional ways to access web? Big Giants like Google, Yahoo! are developing their WAP strength to facilitate the users. Do companies restricting themselves to specific mediums can grow further?

Hello Akash, Im Uday. I am doing Masters in Computer Science at Auburn University, USA. Currently I am taking User Interface Design course and I found it very intresting. Yeah what ever u said is true. I too beleive that mobiles and PDAs will overtake conventional PCs in coming years in terms of Internet.
Yes now we cant just survive with the conventional ways of accessing net reason being that today max professionals are always on move and they rely on handheld media for accessing wide info, mails and what not without staying cooped in there cabin. This scenario also directly attributes to decline in PC market.
There are two Powers in modern world A) Information B) Mobility. Internet empowers ppl with information. This becomes the ultimate power in the hand of user if power of mobility is combined with information. Then handheld devices with internet would become powerfull tools in the hands of users. but here are a few challenges too: 1) Small screens 2) universal markup language for WAPs 3) Ease of navigation 4) Fast and cheap mobile connections

After going through your article I can actually visualise the power of "Information Technology" spreading its wings over the "Manpower".But here I agree with Amit, as he rightly mentioned in his comment that we cannot neglect the challenges which we would have to face at point of time.Good Job....!!
